Uhuh cake yan :) i had the opportunity of choosing this cake design!!! hehe! hunybee and I wanted something different and we saw this cake from Hearts and Bells.

We saw similar cakes from other suppliers but they cannot make all 5 layers edible.. sayang naman kung hindi makakain lahat! hehe!

Gladly, Hearts and Bells can do the whole thing edible and at an affordable price :)

Bee and I love sleeping.. and eating.. eating in bed then sleeping.. and I think this cake suits our personality very well!!!

Capturing the "BIG DAY"

I've been through a lot of photo/vid suppliers.. hangang maubos na ang alloted gigabytes ng aming internet!!! watching the vids in youtube.. from their websites.. reading their reviews and talking to the suppliers themselves.

they don't come cheap too.. well of course there are those who will suit the budget but i was thinking.. this is the day of our lives that we wanted every moment captured.. i would like to book the best photographer and videographer in town but at the same time there should still be some money left for us to eat :)

so the search goes on and on.. i tell you, it's quite tiring.. minsan you will make up your mind and say "eto na.. thiz iz it na talaga!" then you will encounter a better one.. pero makakarinig ka ng negative comment.. pero eventually i found 2 great suppliers in their field.. i think, getting a supplier for each of the photo/vid will be of better quality for each has its own specialty in their field.. would give more detailed attention to their craft and will give you more value for money.

so i came across this very talented photographer.. when I saw his photographs... "whoa! parang humihinga yung picture!!!" i thought to myself. amazing captures of the couple's moments. very creative shots from the simpliest background..

and the search goes on for a creative, reasonably priced videographer.. kinda hard though coz i saw the works of this certain videographer (itago natin sya sa pangalang Jason Magbanua) but .. (damn expensive..blows my budget) my fiance did not approve of this..

"too much! ako nalang ang gagawa!gusto ko ako ang magvivideo ng wedding natin!" hay sakit sa ulo.. pano kaya un?? sus! sabi ko nga magdedebut nalang ulit ako at sya ang magcocoverage! hehe! i know we're gadget geeks and has a bit of knowledge about editing styles etc that's why he is looking for a high standard videos.. "sus kaya ko yan gawin!" ang lage nyang comment..

"yeah i know but it's not physically possible on our wedding day!!!"

grr!!! i think i have shown him tons and tons of sample wedding videos and it's not upto his satndards at all.. i was about to give up.. stressed na and would just want to leave it up to him.. but then i came across this videographer.. very easy to talk to.. replies to ur txts like a lightning! (nakaglue na ata sa kanya ung mobile nya :) ) he got the standards.. the skills.. and compromised with our budget..

sus ganito pala ang ma-stress sa wedding preps! feeling ko nga ang OA OA ko kasi next year pa naman ang wedding pero nafeefeel ko ang stress!!!

i actually started preparing right after jon proposed.. i know i still have a year ahead of me but there are actually a lot of things to do! i literally spend hours and hours on my laptop to browse good suppliers for the event and comparing them.. weighing who is the best and is reasonable enough to be on our so-called "dream team".

ang hirap pala.. specially we're not in manila to do all the preps.. we have to rely on emails, txts, and the suppliers' websites so we can see their product.

well, thanks to "Weddings @ Work", a yahoo based e-group that talks about everything.. to the tiniest minute detail of all the wedding stuff that bride-to-be's need! (pati narin groom of course). this is where i've learned almost everything that needs to be done.

well we have been talking about the wedding and all and almost the whole town is asking "when are you going to get married?" .. duh! "he hasn't even proposed yet!" is my usual answer.

until.. until!!! haha until sa trip nmin sa GoldCoast (which we have visited for the nth time!) last February 14 2007 .. yap! "balentymes dey!".. our second anniversary (officially)

kengkoley: naku hindi noh napaka-obvious naman nun! dapat yung hindi expected!

so that conversation occured around a month before the said proposal date...

and so we drove up to Queensland to escape the busy Sydney life and just chill out on this lovely tropical city and enjoy the tourist attractions..

Feb 14.. around 10am.. we just arrived at the Jupiters Hotel/Casino at Burleigh Heads, Goldcoast. Super pinagpilian ko pa what to wear for this lunch/show thingy and have my hair done and a bit of make-up..just to look my best because it's our anniversary.

kengkoley: mukha kang kangkarot! (referring to my hair)

bengkoley: (teary eyed..) sniff.. sniff.. (at naiyak na talaga) .. i've tried to look my best for you

kengkoley: (a bit shocked that the kangkarot girl cried).. sorry benks.. ang ganda ganda mo nga eh..

naku actually sa lahat ng mga bully etong mapapangasawa ko ang pinaka! daig pa ako manlait!!! haha!!

(by this time may dinudukot na sya sa bulsa nya.. i have a feeling that he's upto something.. oh no.. no... eto na ba un.. oh Lord hindi ata ako ready sa speech ko!!! help help!!!)

kengkoley: hunybee.. papakasalan mo pa ba ako?
bengkoley: (shocked!) oh my gosh... oh my gosh.. pano ba ang dapat i-react.. naku iiyak ba ako.. naku ang dameng dumadaan!!! sabihin corny balentymes day nag propose! oh well WTF who cares!!! "OF COURSE!"

and he opened the box.. with the most beautiful engagement ring ever! fits perfectly! **hugs **kiss kiss kiss **picture picture

unbelievable! finally! engaged na kame!

and the following morning na ako naiyak sa tuwa.. in the privacy of our hotel room.. (delayed response :) )

the most wonderful day of my life to date.. the rest is yet to come..

hmm.. interesting.. :) well i thought having a blogspot will be very much interesting and more so.. creative! so here it is.. i'm trying my first "blog":)
